Challenge
Our client’s Magento 1 store ran on monolithic architecture, which sometimes caused slow database queries and put a heavier load on the system.
Plus, most of their website pages were still in HTML, which held them back from delivering stylish and dynamic user interfaces.
Scope

- Integrating GraphQL into Magento 1 to optimize those database requests.
- Setting up a microservices architecture to boost the overall performance.
- Shifting away from old-school HTML pages and adopting Vue.js, a modern JavaScript framework with its reusability and lightning-fast rendering abilities.
Solutions
- Installing GraphQL Module and Custom Resolvers: We installed a GraphQL module in Magento 1, creating a precise schema for the required data. Custom resolvers fetched data from the database, boosting performance and reducing load.
- Integrating Vue.js: We integrated Vue.js into the existing Magento 1 store. By utilizing Vue.js components, we built a user-friendly interface specifically designed for sellers.
- Developing Google Chrome extension: To facilitate the resale of products, we provided a user-friendly interface for resellers could to access commissions for their sales, filter available “in stock” products, and locate orders using their order ID.
